Honored to be named as one of the 100 women in AI ethics by Women in AI Ethics in 2023!
My passion for science, technology, and nature has led me to become fascinated by how new developments in these fields may influence and advance humankind. As a researcher, I enjoy discussing how to make technological systems fair by removing biases and harms. I also enjoy thinking of creative methods to provide moral frameworks for the creation and use of AI.
I bring a value-driven, interdisciplinary approach to my study on creating ethical AI systems for humanity because I worked in the non-profit sector for a while.
The grave potential that the problems of inequality in our society may become automated and more pervasive as industries move towards using AI to power their solutions is frequently ignored. The bias and discrimination in our society are reflected in the real-world data used to train AI algorithms. At every level of development, AI models must be checked for detrimental bias; if any results point to biased performance, they must be corrected before the model is used to create products, where it may have an adverse effect on customers. I can share my many experiences and knowledge while sustaining the value of localization, trust, culture and representation which I hold in the highest regard, through this arena of AI Ethics.
I work closely with activists, innovators, researchers and the likes to bridge the gap between technology and society.
